Up for sale is a highly original, untouched example of the rare, Australia-only Fiat X1/9 Series 1.5 Compliance Hybrid. For the uninitiated, the "Series 1.5" is a distinct transitional model unique to the Australian market. It features the upgraded Series 2 body styling, wide aluminium bumpers, and restyled interior from the factory, but crucially retains the high-revving 1.3L engine and 4-speed manual gearbox. Finished in its gorgeous, factory-original Azzurro Francia (French Blue), paint. A rare, non-metallic solid finish this car is an absolute time capsule for a purist collector. Most of these had their factory drivetrains swapped out for later 1.5L setups over the years, making an unmodified, numbers-matching example with its original paint choice incredibly hard to find. Key Features: Drivetrain: 100% factory original 1.3L engine and 4-speed manual transmission. Interior: Completely clean and 100% original. No sun cracking on the dashboard, the factory cabin trim has been exceptionally well preserved out of the weather and it is Bertone badged. Rust: Highly solid shell with very little rust compared to typical examples. Key structural areas like the shock towers and sills are in great shape. Registration: Selling with active, current registration. This means no stressful pits, roadworthy backlogs, or club-permit restrictions for the next owner. Condition: The car is being sold exactly "as-is". It is currently a non-runner and is in fully enclosed storage. The registration is fully active and current, which makes the paperwork transfer very easy. However, because it has been in long-term storage, it cannot be driven home. I have not attempted to start it to ensure the timing belt is not compromised. The fuel, timing belt, and braking/clutch hydraulics all need to be properly inspected and refreshed first before returning the vehicle to the road. You will need to arrange a tilt-tray tow truck or a car trailer to pick it up from the storage unit. I have owned this car since 1984 (second owner) and it has 81,000 genuine kms on the clock. The car is in Tasmania (Hobart). It was in fantastic running condition and excellent in appearance when placed in storage - when I began working interstate 15 years ago. I intended to use it regularly, but that didn’t happen! It is a complete wrench for me to sell it but would love it to go to a Fiat enthusiast who can appreciate it.
