In 1972, Bertone unveiled the Fiat X1/9 — a revolutionary mid-engined, two-seat sports car penned by the legendary Marcello Gandini. Affordable, nimble, and beautifully balanced, the X1/9 brought exotic mid-engine handling to everyday drivers. Production continued under the Fiat badge until 1982, when Bertone took over manufacturing and continued building the car until 1989. Today, the X1/9 remains one of the most beloved Italian sports cars ever made, and X1/9 Australia exists to keep that legacy alive.
